Job Description
The Controller will be a strong and vibrant part of our “Management Team” and will be expected to thoroughly understand the financial position of the company and act in an advisory role to the President as well as the each of the company department heads (Operations, Engineering, and Administration).  The Controller will manage and protect our assets through solid financial controls, reporting and continuous communication with the “Management Team”.  Additionally, the Controller will add to the profitable growth of the company through improvements to cash flows, helping to reduce costs/waste and contributing to the planning and execution of our Business Strategy.

Our primary Financial functions include:
Monthly compilation, review, and analysis of financial statements
Overseeing and reporting on A/R and A/P functions
Budget and forecasting analysis
Inventory controls, operating/cost accounting, development, and implementation
Staff development and payroll administration 

Duties will involve: 
Management of 3 administrative personnel
Overseeing the continued development and implementation of all financial control procedures, policies, and systems
Significant daily interaction with other department managers
Assistance in improving the communications, costs and interaction between the finance department, operations, purchasing and sales departments

The controller will report directly to the President of the company and have responsibility for the financial management of the company including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation and presentation of financial reports. The controller will be expected to report on a regular basis the activities, results, and improvements of the finance department.







ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
Development and executing a monthly financial overview report
Development of Individual P and L statements for each of our two divisions
Monthly closing and financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, revenue forecast, and cash flow statements
Reconciliation of Steel and Fabrication Departments
Income Statement
Balance Sheet
Statement of Cash Flow
Year end audit coordination with accounting firm

Budgeting and Forecasting Functions
Continuous improvement of the financial processes through education of managers on financial issues impacting their forecasts, including identifying ways in which to minimize costs and maximize performance.
Assembly and review of budget forecasts and comparisons
Develop internal controls to ensure budget compliance
Build financial models to justify prospective business

Financial Management and Interaction with Other Departments
Operations - project cost accounting, labor reporting, and overhead control
Engineering - incorporate contracts, track progress reporting and confirm steel inventories
Sales - product line profitability analysis
Administration – payroll and health benefits compliance

Cash Flow Management
A/R, A/P, and inventory evaluation
Track outstanding A/P accounts
Supplier credit term negotiations
